ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for an Urban Planner in the area of City and Territory Consulting in Uzbekistan.
The position will be based in Tashkent, with frequent travel and the possibility of extended stays in other locations across Uzbekistan, depending on project requirements.
The selected candidates will work within multidisciplinary international teams on the preparation of:
- Urban development and urban regeneration projects
- Territorial, regional and metropolitan planning assignments
- Urban and regional Master Plans
- Feasibility studies for new cities, industrial areas, economic activity hubs and clusters
Responsibilities also include the preparation of technical and economic feasibility studies for urban and territorial projects, with a particular focus on sustainability, regional resilience and climate‑change adaptation, aligned with international best practices and the requirements.
In addition to project delivery, the role involves participation in business development activities, working alongside IDOM’s business development team to support the preparation of technical and financial proposals for public authorities and international institutions.
ABOUT YOU
Apply if you…
- Proficiency in both Uzbek and English is mandatory, as it is required for coordination with local counterparts, meetings, workshops and on‑site work
- Graduates in Architecture, Engineering, or related disciplines, with a university Master’s degree in territorial planning, urban planning, sustainability and climate change in cities, or urban renaturalisation, to join its City and Territory practice as Urban Planners and/or Project Managers, depending on experience.
- Availability to travel extensively within Uzbekistan, including long‑term stays in regions outside Tashkent, depending on project needs
- 3 to 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Proven technical experience in the preparation of urban and regional plans and urban regeneration studies
- Strong design capability and high attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence
- Advanced skills in digital design and planning tools including GIS, Adobe Suite and Office
- Proficiency in AI tools, CAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, or similar software will be considered an asset.
- Ability and motivation to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong ability to prepare and deliver formal written reports and presentations
