ABOUT THE JOB

 

Within our Railway Systems Area, we are looking for a senior Systems Assurance specialist to lead the definition, implementation and coordination of Systems Assurance processes across major railway programmes.

The role requires a technical leader responsible for the full lifecycle of assurance—from requirements definition to system verification—acting as authority across Systems Assurance disciplines and coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces with design, integration, RAMS and verification teams.

The project will deliver a complex railway system aligned with international standards, including design, integration, installation, testing and commissioning of all the railway systems. A structured Systems Assurance framework is required to ensure compliance, safety and full lifecycle traceability.

 

Key responsabilities:

 

  • Lead the Systems Assurance framework across the programme
  • Define and manage the Systems Assurance Plan and associated processes
  • Oversee Requirements Management, including RTM, traceability and configuration control
  • Establish and coordinate Interface Management processes (Interface Registers, agreements and resolution)
  • Ensure integration of RAMS activities within requirements, design and verification
  • Implement and manage IBM DOORS Next Generation as the central tool for requirements and interfaces
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, interfaces, hazards, tests and verification evidence
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, system integration, RAMS and V&V
  • Ensure compliance with standards and project-specific requirements
  • Lead assurance reviews, audits and validation of engineering deliverables
  • Manage risks related to requirements completeness, interface definition and system integration
  • Coordinate with client, contractors and stakeholders
  • Support testing and commissioning with full traceability to requirements
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary Systems Assurance teams

ABOUT YOU

 

Do not hesitate to apply if you have....

 

  • Degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electrical, Systems Engineering or equivalent)
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent (preferred)
  • Membership of recognised professional body (e.g. IET, IEEE)
  • Continuous professional development in Systems Assurance / railway systems
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Systems Assurance, Systems Engineering or RAMS
  • Proven delivery of large-scale infrastructure or railway projects with multidisciplinary interfaces
  • Experience across full lifecycle: requirements, design, integration, testing and commissioning
  • Experience in Requirements Management, Interface Management and RAMS integration
  • Experience using DOORS / DOORS Next Generation
  • Participation in complex programmes with high system integration requirementS
